Mexico Through the Lens of Women Filmmakers

Presented by Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center and Cine Las Americas at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

“El Lado Salvaje” (2018) directed by Mariana Paredes Peláez tells the story of Ernestina Ramirez, world athletics champion of 100, 200 and 400 meters races. At the age of 83, with other master athletes, she shows that life is a continuous discovery and through physical training and mindset, it is possible to find a new sense of existence. These master athletes share with us a personal insight that reveals courage and passion.

The second film in our collaboration with Malakita Producciones, Consulado General de México en Austin, Cine Las Americas, Asociación de Mujeres en el Cine y TV México / WIFTVMex Oficial MEXICO THROUGH THE LENS OF WOMEN FILMMAKERS premiers this Friday, October 7th @ 6pm in the MACC auditorium! Film is presented with Spanish audio/English subtitles.
