Oktoberfest of Sound

Presented by Austin Symphony Orchestra at The Long Center: Michael and Susan Dell Hall

ASO will take audiences on an aural tour of Germany with their Masterworks Series concert, “Oktoberfest of Sound.” The Germanic evening begins with Robert Schumann’s Genoveva Overture followed by violinist Elisabeth Kufferath performing Albert Dietrich’s Violin Concerto in D Minor. Kufferath is the only artist to have recorded this piece, and will be making her United States debut. The opening weekend program conclude with Johannes Brahms’ mighty Symphony No.1 in C Minor, an epic ending for an epic season opener!
