Austin Girls‘ Choir presents “An Enchanted Evening,” an hour of American Songbook and pop classic harmonies guaranteed to get your toes tapping and a smile on your face! From a Beach Boys medley to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Hoagy Carmichael’s “Stardust” to Eric William Barnum’s otherworldly “The Stars Stand Up in the Air,” choristers offer an eclectic and beautifully-interlaced collection of songs for an early autumn evening.

A 6-member core group continued to make music throughout the pandemic, learning notes by Zoom and practicing a cappella outdoors in all kinds of weather. Their efforts have paid off, as they now can capably sing in 6-part harmony! Some of the choir’s newest members will join this ensemble in several songs for these two shows, too. The casual concerts will be held at 7 pm on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Ascension Lutheran Church Parish Life Center (6420 Hart Lane, Austin), and 7 pm on Sunday, Sept. 11 at St. Richard’s Parish Hall (1420 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock). There is plenty of free parking at both locations. Entry is free, although donations will be gratefully accepted at the door, $10 suggested.
