Latinitas summer camps focus on empowering young girls in the Austin area by allowing them to express themselves through a variety of media and technology activities such as writing, photography, radio production, app and web design, and more. Each week of camp is $200; however, need based scholarships are available – click here to download a scholarhsip application. Latinitas is providing 4 weeks of camp through July this summer for ANY girl ages 9-14. Monday-Friday from 9AM-4PM (8AM drop off option available for an additional fee). Camp Location: 4926 E Cesar Chavez St. Austin, TX 78702. 

CAMP DATES:

July 5-8 – CINE CHICA – In the Cine Chica camp, girls will learn aobut independent film making, publishing and music while exploring the multiple channels for promotion and success of their talent. Their videos, photogrphs and other works will be published on latinitasmagazine.org for the world to see!

July 11-15 – FASHION FORWARD – Can you spot trends? Girls will have fun with fashion writing, photography, reviews, videos and will create their own fashion magazine app.

July 18-22 – TECH CHICA – Are you into video games or new technologies like social media? Girls will go through the development of their very own video game while learning the basics of using social media as a tool, and getting some hands on experience in working with websites!

July 25-29 – HEALTHY CHICA – Yoga, acupuncture, Zumba and meditation are just a few things on the menu for Latinitas Healthy Chica camp. Girls will use blogging, photography, video and other multimedia forms to explore healthy living choices.
