The Austin Asian American Film Festival is back at AFS Cinema June 23-26! They will showcase new and emerging works by Asian and Asian American filmmakers for a juried festival that includes screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and events.
AAAFF’s headliner screenings include Tom Huang’s comedy DEALING WITH DAD, which will open the film festival, So Yun Um’s LIQUOR STORE DREAMS, which is the Centerpiece selection, and Kurdwin Ayub’s SONNE, which will close the film festival. All screenings will take place at the AFS Cinema.
AAAFF will screen 11 feature films (6 Narrative, 5 Documentary), and 16 short films as part of their ongoing mission to produce programs that champion Asian and Asian American stories through film, educate about AAPI issues, and build community through partnerships with creatives and other organizations. The in-person/in-theater event will feature several filmmaker appearances and post-screening Q&As, as well as a red carpet gala presentation prior to the Centerpiece film screening of LIQUOR STORE DREAMS from 5:30-6:30pm on Saturday, June 25.

FILM PASSES – REGULAR ($90) & STUDENT ($75)
Film passes get you entry to all 12 film programs from June 23-26. Student Film Pass holders may attend all films. Student ID must be presented when picking up a film pass or a price difference may be charged for a regularly priced film pass.

Can’t Make it to All the Films?
Just want to check out a film or two? You can purchase an individual film ticket to any film from the lineup. Single-film tickets are available for each film. Note that badge and film pass holders receive priority entrance for seating.

Any attendee that has a ticket from a screening throughout the weekend is welcome to join AAAFF for the Closing Party on Sunday, Jun 26 from 10:30pm – 12:30am at St. John Studios for the Awards announcement, food, drink and entertainment.
