Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company premieres “The Magnificent Conjuring of You and Me,” an original work conceived, choreographed, and performed by Austin’s homegrown, award-winning modern dance company.
“THE MAGNIFICENT CONJURING OF YOU AND ME” is an original dancework performed by Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company, Austin’s homegrown, award-winning modern dance company. It features an original score by composer Michael Wall and lighting design by Stephen Pruitt. Expect to see athletic, expressive dancing and an ode to joy and lightness in this 40-minute dance. Performances are at Cafe Dance, a studio theater with limited seating, where audiences will be treated to an intimate viewing of live dance.
Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company is one of Austin’s longest-standing modern dance companies, having delivered stellar dance events for 22 years. With works described as “strikingly athletic and wonderfully expressive,” “heavenly,” “smart” and “masterful,” Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company has accumulated numerous recognitions from the Austin Critics Table including awards for Best Dance Concert, Best Choreographer, Best Ensemble, Best Dancer, and Best Duet. Additionally, Artistic Director and Choreographer Kathy Dunn Hamrick was recognized as “a model for the artist who approaches each project in a spirit of experimentation and reinvention” and inducted into the Austin Arts Hall of Fame.

A $20 General Admission ticket gets you a folding chair on the floor or on a riser. $15 floor seating is a stadium seat with a back that sits directly on the floor.

COVID-SAFE POLICY: All guests must show proof of vaccination. Masking is required of all attendees. Our dancers perform unmasked; however, they are fully vaccinated and undergo daily testing.
SHOE POLICY. To protect the dance floor, everyone is asked to remove their shoes and leave them in the lobby.
LATE SEATING POLICY. There is no late seating for this event. Late seating poses a risk to the dancers (and latecomers) in this particular studio setting.
