Flatbed Press is pleased to present Out of La Romita, the third biannual exhibition of work by past participants of Flatbed Press’s “Italian Intensive” summer workshop at La Romita School of Art located at Terni, Italy. The workshop, taught by Suzi Davidoff and Katherine Brimberry, has been offered since 2011.

The show serves as a reunion for the artists who already know each other as well as an expansion of the La Romita network in forging new relationships. On exhibition are works either inspired by the La Romita experience or other works by the artists who have traveled there. Sending work or traveling to Austin to show work are artists from Australia, El Paso, Dallas and Savannah. The inherent content and connection is the people, the place, and the experience of the intensive itself.

Dan Lambert, acoustic guitarist from El Paso, will be providing entertainment for the evening. Dan has performed extensively and is well known both as a musician and restorer of rare vintage guitars. He will be accompanied by percussionist, Chris Serrano, also from El Paso.

The show will be opening the same night as De la Complicidad con la Agresio?n, an exhibition of works by Miguel Arago?n. Join us for an Artist’s Reception the evening Friday, May 20 from 6-8pm.
