Anthropos Arts is hosting their 17th Annual Student Concert, Real World Music Showcase, a culmination event in which all of their students will perform music from Bosnia, Cuba, Colombia and Nigeria, in addition to American Jazz standards, and the music of David Bowie and Prince.

For the past 17 years, Anthropos Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has provided at­risk middle and high school students with free music lessons, workshops and performance opportunities. Employing professional, local musicians and world­class, touring performers, Anthropos Arts contributes both to the cultural landscape of Austin and to the overall educational success of our students. For the last five years, Anthropos students have had a 100% graduation rate and a staggering 100% college enrollment rate.

Real World Music Showcase is an opportunity for our students to perform in front of friends and family, onstage at Emo’s (a premier Austin musical venue), with their mentors.  

Sunday, May 15, at Emo’s (2015 East Riverside Drive, Austin), from 5 to 7pm
