Yara Taino & Guaytiao will be teaching the 1,000 year old ceremonial ballgame of Batú. A cross between volleyball and soccer, Batu\’ was played for competition, fun, and to resolve conflicts between communities. This indigenous ballgame introduced Europeans to the rubber ball!
This event will take place on the great lawn outside the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 701 Tillery Street in Austin.
