Mother-Daughter Poetry Project

Mother-Daughter Poetry Project

Presented by Cider Spoon Stories at Sharp Noggin

Each mother-daughter pair will be asked to bring a copy of a favorite family recipe. Each woman will then use that recipe as the basic “skeleton” upon which to write an individual poem. Instead of “How to Fry Chicken the Way Grandma Used to,” moms will write about “How to be a Mother” and daughters will write about “How to be a Daughter,” using the recipe template.

Moms will leave with all the components for a piece of handmade art that simultaneously displays the family recipe, the “Mom” poem, and the “Daughter” poem beautifully.

Cost of class includes one complimentary glass of wine (or sparkling grape juice) per person and one take-home kit filled with: 2 calligraphy pens, fancy papers, corner mounts.

Total fee: $50 per mother-daughter duo. Recommended age: 10 and up.
