TexARTS Musical Theater Academy Presents: The Wizard of Oz.

This is a production based class, and enrollment is required before audition. Performances will be live and in the TexARTS Kam & James Morris Theater.

Ages 7-12.

Registration is for the fall Musical Theater Academy Youth Production, the title “The Wizard of Oz”. is subject to change pending licensing agreement.

Important Dates:

January 15 – Placement auditions
January 22 – Rehearsals begin
April 21 & 28 – Tech rehearsals
April 22 & 29 – Dress rehearsals
April 23, 24, 30, & May 1 – Performs

Auditions:

While previous musical theater experience is not necessary, we highly encourage students to be enrolled in weekly technique classes to supplement their participation.  Enrollment is first come first served and auditions are for casting purposes.  Students must be registered in order to audition.  Auditions will be conducted in person, students should prepare 18 bars of a song in an appropriate key, a one minute memorized monologue, and bring jazz shoes and dance clothes to auditions.

Tuition:

Tuition is $750 and is due in full by auditions. A $40.00 registration fee will be applied at checkout for new students.

All monies paid to TexARTS are nonrefundable.

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals will be in studio only and will occur as needed on Fridays between 4:30-6:30pm and all Saturdays between 9-1pm.  Rehearsal schedules are updated weekly and will be released after casting is completed.

All TexARTS programming is subject to minimum enrollment requirements.  The Wizard of Oz. must have a minimum of 20 enrollments to proceed.  If the minimum enrollment requirement is not met, the Academy will contact the enrolled families directly to resolve accounts.

By enrolling in this program, the account holder agrees to pay the tuition in full by the appropriate deadlines and to abide by a strict attendance policy.  This program may not be dropped and refunds will not be granted for any reason, including but not limited to: casting, absences, or recasting of roles.  All fees are due by the week of the production; students with account balances will not be permitted to perform until account balances are made current.  Accounts with delinquent balances may be sent to a third party collections service.
