Rap Unzel, A Story of #BlackBoyJoy and a Journey of Hair and Self-Care. By Jeremy Rashad Brown. Directed by Indiia Wilmott. October 9-31, 2021, Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 3pm.
To keep audiences and performers safe and comfortable, we have moved the show outside and folks will be seated at tables of 2, 4, or 6 with their families and loved ones. Limited single “bleacher” seats also available.Reginald “RAP” Unzel is a young man with big hair and bigger dreams of musical stardom… IF only he can get out of his room. This celebration of identity, awareness, and empowerment features Hip Hop music and dance.
Rap Unzel disrupts traditional fairy tales, railing against mainstream philosophies that center hyper-masculine and stoic representations of Black men and also providing positive roles and representation for BIPOC artists. The story’s uplifting and whimsical themes have the tremendous potential to touch audiences of all ages, connecting Ancestors and Descendants through the Arts.
