The Starlight Symphony Orchestra encourages and inspires ambition through work and school with its next performances. “Academic Festival Overture,” by Johannes Brahms, and “Infernal Gallop,” by Jacques Offenbach highlight and acknowledge the various roles work and school play in our lives. Dedication to school resonates as the 2016 Young Artist Solo Competition winners present their achievements with dynamic performances. Violinist Lillian Sun performs the 1st movement of “Symphonie Espagnole in D Minor, Op. 21,” by Edouard Lalo, and violinist Sophia Ayer performs the the 3rd movement of the “Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 1,” by Julius Conus. Included in the program is a performance by the Dripping Springs Orchestra Club on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Dripping Springs High School, 940 Hwy 290, Dripping Springs, TX.
The Starlight Symphony Orchestra is comprised of all volunteer musicians and the concerts are free and open to the public. Donations are always welcomed and appreciated to meet the operating expenses of the orchestra.
