Thundering footwork, flashing skirts, soaring vocals and blazing guitars bring Zilker Park alive after dark! Join A’lante Flamenco for “Flamenco Under the Stars,” two free shows at the Zilker Hillside Theater, September 25 & 26, 2021 at 8pm. A’lante’s dancers and musicians will be joined by special guest Alex Ruiz (of Del Castillo and Chingón) and the incomparable Oliver Steck as Master of Ceremonies!
A’lante Flamenco wants to spread the joy of flamenco in a big way, so we’re asking for your participation in what we hope will be the world’s biggest flash mob on the Zilker Hillside! We’ll be sharing a video tutorial of a short dance we’d like everyone to practice, and then invite audiences to dance along during both Saturday and Sunday shows! We’ll also do a short pre-show tutorial at 8pm each evening, so whether you’re already a flamenco dancer, dream of dancing in a club in Spain, or just want to try something new, get ready to rumba!

Covid-19 precautions will be in effect! As of August 12th, 2021, all individuals over the age of 2 are required to wear masks to enter City of Austin facilities or to be on parkland unless exercising and/or social distancing. In light of this, masks are now required at Zilker Hillside Theater unless you are walking or practicing social distancing. There’s plenty of space to spread out, so bring a picnic, a blanket, and plenty of friends to enjoy a fiery flamenco show featuring the company that has twice earned the “Best Dance Ensemble” award from the Austin Critics’ Table.
