FRESH TAKES on Gilbert & Sullivan Austin! In 2021 as GSA’s traditional approach has been blocked by the pandemic, the company has commissioned “fresh takes” of classic music and scenes from Austin theatre artists and companies. EPISODE 3, premiering September 18 at www.gilbertsullivan.org and available online free of charge for a month, features improv group American Berserk Theatre and contemporary music ensemble Density512 riffing on “The Pirates of Penzance,” an sharply ironic take on government use of force, a languorous romance at a swimming pool, and a cultural counselor’s “little list” of those who never will be missed.
