Artist Talk by Peter Saul

Peter Saul was born in San Francisco in 1934. He went to the California School of Fine Arts and then to Washington University School of Fine Arts in Saint Louis, Missouri. His work has connections with Pop Art, Surrealism, and Expressionism and has made about 800 paintings during his career.

Saul has had solo exhibitions at Venus Over Manhattan (New York, 2015), Corbett vs. Dempsey (Chicago, 2011), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (Philadelphia, 2009), Artpace (San Antonio, 2997) and Texas Gallery (Houston, 1996). He has been in group exhibitions at Matthew Marks Gallery (New York, 2015), Galerie Zürcher (Paris, 2014), Marlborough Chelsea (New York, 2014), Whitney Museum of American Art (New York, 2013), Carnegie Museum of Art (Pittsburgh, 2010), Albright-Knox Art Gallery (Buffalo, 2008) among many others.

He is represented by Mary Boone Gallery.
