UTNT (UT New Theatre) presents The Orange Garden

Presented by The University of Texas at Austin Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas Performing Arts at The University of Texas at Austin - Oscar G. Brockett Theatre

A young American Peace Corps volunteer is sent to Iran in 1972 where he is swept up in the growing fire of the revolution. A story about the complicated ways we fall in love with people and places, The Orange Garden draws influences from Rumi, 1960s rock and folk music, whirling dervishes and the lyricism of the Persian language. Written by Joanna Garner, The Orange Garden runs April 15, 20 and 23 at the Oscar G. Brockett Theatre.

Produced by The University of Texas at Austin, The Orange Garden is part of UTNT (UT New Theatre), an annual showcase of newly developed works for the American stage from playwrights of the university’s master of fine arts in playwriting program. UTNT (UT New Theatre) was established in 2007 by renowned playwright Steven Dietz.

The Orange Garden contains mature content, including adult language.
