Our March panel event, “How to Get Your Music Placed in Film and TV,” was a standing-room-only success, with meaty content from our speakers and active networking participation. Attendees told us later that we made it easy for them to meet and talk to the right people. Lots of new biz got started that night.

“Music Festivals: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly”

This one will be a discussion of the rhythms of festival booking and PR, including the differences between application vs. invitation festivals, PR timing when you’re in the festival, and PR/media outreach when you’re NOT in the festival but the festival is in your town, sucking up all the press bandwidth while you still have shows to promote. 

Our industry-veteran speakers, from booking, PR, and the media, will cover how to get into Austin festivals (SXSW, ACL, FunFunFun Fest, Blues on the Green, etc etc etc), how to promote effectively, and also–a huge challenge for Austin acts–how to keep booking and drawing to your regular shows when the festival of the month seems to be taking all the attention.

This panel event is sponsored by Sustainable Artists (An educational 501(c)(3) Non-Profit) on Tuesday, April 5th from 6 PM until 10 PM at the Brass House (Ballroom), 115 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, Texas 78701. “The Moment of Truth”: Come at 6PM with your best songs on a CD or Zip as an Indie Filmmaker will be listening for songs to place in their new film in post production.
