Participants will learn about Indo-Persian miniature painting while focusing on portraiture. They will study the stylization, techniques and composition employed in traditional miniature painting. The primary process explored in the workshop will be the ancient techniques of wash, tapai and pardakht. In addition, the participants will be given a brief on how to prepare wasli (handmade paper), mix traditional miniature paints using gum arabic and apply gold leaf.
