Join Brown Girl Collective at The Contemporary Austin for a free artmaking workshop for young artists exploring Deborah Roberts’ exhibition
Young artists are invited to join a free artmaking workshop hosted by Brown Girl Collective at The Contemporary Austin–Jones Center. Particpants will tour an exhibition of new work by artist Deborah Roberts in the galleries of The Contemporary Austin and create art in response to the work on view. In partnership with FILMCollective, filmmaker Samantha Porter will shoot footage of young artists creating art and discussing the artwork to create a documentary film about the exhibition and Deborah Roberts. –Two dates available! Thursday, July 22 or Friday, July 23.
–Each workshop is from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM.
–The workshop will be held at The Contemporary Austin–Jones Center at 700 Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701.
–Artmaking supplies will be provided.
–Limited capacity! We are hosting 12 participants per workshop. Please chose one date!
–Both workshops are free and open to all young artists between ages 14 and 21.

We encourage the use of public transportation, and the Jones Center is conveniently located on a number of downtown bus routes. We are surrounded by city meter parking spots and also numerous garages that have variable parking rates.
