2016 Austin International Poetry Festival

2016 Austin International Poetry Festival

Presented by Austin International Poetry Festival at Blanton Museum of Art

The Austin International Poetry Festival will be held April 7-10, 2016.  Features include Dejavu Tafari from South Africa as well as National Features Amoja (The Mo-Man) Sumler and Cameron Conaway. AIPF is the “work of heART” conducted by volunteer-based local non-profit Austin Poets International, Inc. API is honored to present International, National, Regional and Local Featured Poets reading alongside Registered Poets at local venues across beautiful Austin.  This four-day, citywide, all-inclusive annual celebration of poets and poetry has grown to become “the largest non-juried poetry festival in the U.S.” It includes up to 30 live local readings, at least 5 poetry workshops, at least 5 open mics, two anthology competitions (adult and youth) with readings featuring the poets published in the anthologies, two poetry slams, and a poetry all-nighter. Poets who pay to register may attend workshops and read at City Reads.  All events, except workshops, are free and open to the public. We sincerely hope you will join our 24th AIPF celebration!
