GRA is spicing up our award-winning camp with a new virtual program to empower tweens and teens from home, where campers learn to play an instrument and write original music while discovering how to work together, building self-esteem and confidence.
GRA Camp Rock-A-Rama will include live instrument instruction, band practice, lunchtime musical performances by women, trans and non-binary artists, and the Rock-A-Rama Morning Show hosted by GRA Executive Director Jamie Bahr and GRA Program Director Madison Whitaker. The show will include engaging discussions, workshops, and instructional videos. Campers will also gain access to a digital audio workstation and GRA’s exclusive online platform. The camp closes out with a livestream song showcase on Saturday, July 24th.
Camp Rock-A-RAMA is open to campers of all experiences, backgrounds, and interests in various styles of music (not just rock!) GRA provides musical instruments and equipment to any camper in the Austin area who needs it and instrument instruction for all skill levels with knowledgeable educators and mentors. Beginners, intermediate and advanced musicians are all welcome!
Tuition is $300. Scholarships are available at our website. The Rock-A-Rama Morning Show will be available to the public for free on our Youtube channel, as well as streaming on the Facebook event page.
