AWARD WINNER – Improvised Oscar Bait

AWARD WINNER – Improvised Oscar Bait

Presented by The Institution Theater at The Institution Theater

What is an Oscar worthy film? Is it an entire cast speaking with a British accent in war-torn Paris as the encroaching Nazis begin to storm your city?  Is it crying loudly while holding your disease riddled lover, condemning God and His angels to Hell?  Is it a film about Hollywood types applauding their own greatness while being filmed in one seemingly seamless shot?  Is it just anything that happens to be directed by Steven Spielberg starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Kate Winslet?  This is what AWARD WINNER will try to unleash and uncover!

From the grandest traditions of Schindler’s List, Forrest Gump, The Reader, Birdman and The English Patient, AWARD WINNER is an improvised “Oscar Bait” movie done right before your eyes. Award Winner gathers as many Oscar film clichés from the audience as possible. From there, a three-act award winning film is created using as many of the clichés as possible. There will be laughter, tears (especially from Leonardo DiCaprio when he doesn’t win… again!) and award-winning performances that make Peter O’Toole sober.

AWARD WINNER stars Bonnie Burke, Jennifer Dorsey, Brittany Flurry, Lena Long, Adam Mengesha, Heidi Penix, Lex Simpson, & Nicholaus Weindel.  Directed by Tyler Bryce and Kenny Madison.
