In the spring of 2008, just around the corner from the Bass plaza, in the newly minted Butler School of Music, the earliest ideas of line upon line were hatched. Making new things with composers was our favorite thing to do then, and remains our favorite thing to do now. The current state of the world has somehow only solidified that, for us, making new things is intangibly, sometimes illogically, important. So this show is two brand new things, commissioned, workshopped and written over the last couple of months, and one thing that is slightly less new, but still new to US audiences.
We’re delighted to be co-presenting this show with Texas Performing Arts and performing live at the safest concert venue we can imagine, the Texas Big Top Tent on the Bass Concert Hall plaza. We’ll be outside (but with a roof), with lots of distance between seating pods, masks required and contactless ticketing among some of the additional safety precautions.
