“Los Compadres” are delighted to play once again at Esquina Tango, this time joined by Vane Salazar, a beautiful young singer from Chile. Their repertoire consists of a wide variety of music genres including, bolero, son, cha cha cha, bossa nova, ranchera, salsa, etc.

“Los Compadres” is a musical ensemble that plays Latin music. We understand as Latin music, the blend of Native American, European, and African, rhythms, melodies, and harmonies that come together to provide the foundation of the Latin diaspora. The group was formed by Luis Ibanez, singer, and musical director. While consistently playing in Austin, Luis met Daniel Durham (Bass player), and Jeff Blum (Guitar Player), well- known active musicians, and immediately decided to play together. The last member joining the group was Juan “Lazaro” Sarria originally from Cuba. With his great understanding of the Latin hand percussion instruments, Lazaro provides the rhythm foundation that blends together creating beautiful harmonious melodies.
