Widowed and now childless, 70-year-old Abu Raed leads a very uneventful life at home reading one of his 2000 books when not working as a custodian at the Amman airport. A fateful retrieval of an airline pilot’s cap leads to a new path in life as some of the neighborhood kids think he is truly a pilot. Giving into the confusion, he adopts a new persona and begins spinning tales of his many adventures around the world and becoming a hero to the kids. That is, all except to the cynical adolescent Murad, who sets out to destroy the illusion of Raed’s fanciful life. Little does he know how important the old man will become to him.
