Kennedy Center's Couch Concerts: Texas Folklife presents the Traditional Music of Texas

Texas Folklife presents traditional music genres all fronted by accordion including Conjunto, polka and Zydeco. Starting in the Rio Grande Valley with Juan Longoria, Jr. (Conjunto), moving to Central Texas with Isaak Klaus (polka) and closing with Houston’s zydeco with Keyun Dickson. These three musicians were former champions of Texas Folklife’s Big Squeeze accordion contest and have performed at the annual Accordion Kings & Queens Concert in Houston. This event is in collaboration with Full Gallop.

Afterward we will host an online after-party with Q&A with the performers. This is open to current Texas Folklife members only. You can renew your membership or purchase one today at https://texasfolklife.org/membership.

You will receive a private link to call into the party via Zoom. This party-from-home event will start at 5:00PM CST. Juan Longoria, Jr and Keyun Dickson will join in and do a brief Q&A with attendees.
