Jarrott Productions is pleased to its next production, Jane Anderson’s “Mother of the Maid.” Directed by Clarissa Smith-Hernandez, the play stars Austin veteran actress Katherine Schroeder as Isabelle, the mother of the Maid; and features newcomer Anna Maria Ward as Joan, along with David R. Jarrott as Joan’s father, Jacques, and Christopher Gonzalez as her brother, Pierre; rounding out the cast are Beau Paul as Father Gilbert, and Erin Scialabba as the Lady of the Court.

Playwright Anderson says her play is “really the journey of what one goes through as a mother when you have a child you can’t understand, and then you realize that you have to allow this child to go out into the world and realize what they’re meant to do.” Though set in the 15th century, the dialogue is contemporary. New York Magazine called the play “Full of discovery. Powerful and stunning.”
