Jim Cullum, Jr. left us in 2019 after a long and storied career as an ace jazz cornet player and bandleader.  Fortunately, he left behind an array of top jazz musicians who had played in the Jim Cullum Jazz Band.  Jim always hired the best players he could find.  Some of them have organized the Riverwalk Alumni Jazz Band, and it is a hit on the jazz festival circuit.  The Austin Traditional Jazz Society will welcome the Riverwalk Alumni Jazz Band. The band will consist of Mike Pittsley (trombone), David Jellema (cornet), Tim Laughlin (clarinet), John Sheridan (piano), Chuck Moses (string bass) and Kevin Hess (drums).

When: Sunday, March 15 from 1:00 to 3:45 p.m.  Doors open at 12:45 p.m.

Where: Cap City Comedy Club, 8120 Research Boulevard (intersection with Anderson Square) in North Austin.

Admission: Concert admission is free to ATJS members. $10 general admission and $5 for students with ID.  

Features: Good food (kitchen open 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.), full bar (suggested minimum: 2 items, food and/or drink). Two dance floors, large free parking lot with unlimited overflow a block east. Hall holds up to 300 people — lots of room for all!
