The cast of Austin Playhouse’s production of TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS will be performing excerpts from the play at Austin Central Library on Jan. 15th from 1-2. Event FREE to the public.
In 2012, Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, Wild, would hold the #1 spot on the NY Times bestseller list for seven weeks. But before Wild made her famous, Strayed was a struggling writer who took on the unpaid, anonymous position of advice columnist on a literary website.
As “Dear Sugar,” she answered thousands of letters asking for advice using empathy and her personal experiences to help those seeking guidance for obstacles both large and small.
Eventually those letters became a book and then Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) crafted them into a play.
Join the cast of Tiny Beautiful Things on Jan. 15th from 1-2 at the Austin Central Library as they perform excerpts from the play in the Demonstration Room.
Tiny Beautiful Things is a luminous play about reaching when you’re stuck, healing when you’re broken, and finding the courage to take on the questions which have no answers. Austin Playhouse is proud to be one of the first theatres in the country to produce it.
