Fall Into Music

Fall Into Music

Presented by Austin Soundwaves and KMFA 89.5 at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

This event will kick off the 3rd annual Fall into Music Instrument Drive to collect gently-used instruments, books, and accessories from the public and distribute them to benefit 11 area schools and nonprofits that serve youth throughout Central Texas. These programs help hundreds of children, including many who have no other opportunity for learning to play music.

The event will celebrate music and music education. It will include live music by local artists, including Atash, Gabriel Santiago, and The Tiarra Girls. There will be activities for kids, face painting, food trucks, and opening remarks and a ceremonial first donation from Austin Symphony Orchestra Music Director, Maestro Peter Bay. Leaders from The Hispanic Alliance, KMFA Classical 89.5, and the beneficiary organizations will be on hand. Donations will be accepted at the event and at locations throughout Austin until November 18.
