A SPECTACULAR EVENING OF THEATER, FILM, AND LIVE MUSIC!
On Friday the 13th, come enjoy the Invincible Czars’ screening of Nosferatu, accompanied by the Czars’ original live score. Buy tickets for just the show OR for BOTH Nosferatu and Trouble Puppet’s Frakenstein, in this wonderfully eerie and artful double bill!
ABOUT NOSFERATU:
The Invincible Czars wind up their five-state tour of Nosferatu with an encore presentation at SVT!
Austin’s musical emperors of eclecticism accompany the classic 1922 vampire film Nosferatu with their original live score, which incorporates violin, glockenspiel, organ, flute, bass clarinet, vocals, music box, loops, electric guitar, bass, singing bowl, tambourine, and other hand percussion—performed live by only four musicians!
The band incorporates Bela Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances in the score, a nod to the fictional Count Orlock’s home turf. The highlight of the score is a haunting version of Romanian Dance IV featuring an otherworldly vocal performance by the band’s wind mistress Leila Henley.
ABOUT FRANKENSTEIN:
Frankenstein: The Trouble Puppet Show is a spectacular work of puppet theater, adapted from Mary Shelley’s classic novel by Trouble Puppet Artistic Director Connor Hopkins. Darkly hilarious, thinky and fun, this show is a seasonal favorite with Austin audiences. (Opening weekend sold out all shows!)
ASL interpretation of Frankenstein, by Emily Niswonger: Nov. 13.
