Lecture with Poet Srikanth Reddy

Presented by Harry Ransom Center at Harry Ransom Center

Poet Srikanth Reddy delivers the Bagley Wright Lecture “on likeness,” an exploration of the simile. The Poetry Foundation says, “his poems are collagelike in their variety and inclusiveness.”

Reddy is the author of the poetry collections Facts for Visitors (2004) and Voyager (2011), as well as a book of criticism, Changing Subjects: Digression in Modern American Poetry (2012). He is the literacy director for the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, India, and he teaches in the creative writing program at the University of Chicago.

This international lecture series, created by Wave Books, offers leading poets the opportunity for in-depth exploration of the subject or poetry and poetics. This event is sponsored by the New Writers Project and the Department of English at The University of Texas at Austin.
