Public Presentation: Building Austin's Creative Capacity

Public Presentation: Building Austin's Creative Capacity

Presented by City of Austin Cultural Arts Division at Boyd Vance Theatre, Carver Museum & Cultural Center

The City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division (CAD) of the Economic Development Department invites all arts and cultural organizations and individual creatives to an interactive presentation of the results from Building Austin’s Creative Capacity, an assessment of the service needs of Austin’s creative sector.

Earlier this year, through a survey and focus groups, the City asked Austin creatives (individuals and nonprofit organizations) how they use current creative sector resources and services, what they need from Austin’s support structure, and how they would like it provided. Come see and hear the results of your collective voice in helping the City of Austin and all creative sector service providers ensure that they are supporting the needs of Austin’s individual creatives and nonprofit arts organizations.

Christine Harris, of consulting firm WolfBrown, will present the research and survey results, followed by a Q&A session. Attendees will be able to give their input on how to prioritize the recommendations.

Agenda:

6:00 – Networking and light refreshments
6:30 – Presentation: Building Austin’s Creative Capacity: Creative Sector Needs Assessment
7:15 – Question and Answer Session
7:45 – Prioritizing Recommendations

Spread the word – this evening is all about Austin’s creative community!

More information about the needs assessment process is available at austintexas.gov/creativecapacity.
