A collection of songs celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment
Tapestry Singers, Austin’s Women’s Chorus, is proud to present “Still I Rise,” it’s 2019 Fall Concert. Since 1987, Tapestry Singers has encouraged women, regardless of race, color, sexual identity, or vocal confidence, to explore their singing abilities and experience the joy and healing that comes from music and singing.
Join us in a celebration of women leaders who persisted in the face of obstacles and the 100th anniversary of the landmark passage of the 19th amendment by Congress on June 4, 1919! Song selections include “And Ain’t I A Woman” by Susan Borwick, “The Beauty of Your Dreams” by Joan Szymko, “Because I am Human” by Dale Trumbore, “Unity” by Lisa Young, “What Happens When a Woman” by Artemisia and “Never Sit Down!” by Gwyneth Walker.
Doors open at 7pm. Music starts at 7:30pm. Parking is available at the church, in the lots next door and across the street at HEB.
$15 general admission, $10 for students and seniors.
