Celebrate the arrival of fall with South Austin’s premier community ensemble, under the direction of Kerry Taylor.
Celebrate fall (finally!) with the Waterloo Wind Band. The first half of the concert celebrates the changes in weather, earlier sunsets and football with music of four very different pieces ranging from one of John Phillip Sousa’s 137 marches to a very challenging tone Poem by Dmitri Shostakovich.
After a brief intermission, the concert continues with a commissioned work, “Bryce’s Vision,” a tribute to Bryce and Diana Taylor, ourĀ music director’s parents. The concert closes with 11 movements of John Krance’s band transcription of Carl Orff’s epic setting of poems, “Carmina Burana”!
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
Admission is free. Donations accepted. The Waterloo Wind Band is a non-profit (501c3) organization.
