Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company, one of Austin’s longest standing modern dance companies, opens its 20th season with the premiere of “MOON,” an original work with choreography by Kathy Dunn Hamrick, performed to live music by line upon line percussion. “MOON” is a highly physical dance work with alternating phases of acceleration and deceleration, of filling and emptying, of pushing and pulling, and of light and dark. Line upon line, an Austin-based percussion group  that “exists to share the world’s most inventive music with intrepid listeners,” will play five different pieces of music for the 50-minute work.

The Austin Critics Table named Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company Best Dance Ensemble and Line Upon Line Percussion Best Music Ensemble in June of 2019. This is the fourth collaboration for the critically-acclaimed dance and music ensembles.
