Soothe your restless heart this Valentine’s Day weekend with Ballet Austin!
Celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend by treating someone special to ballets by two of the world’s most accomplished choreographers. From George Balanchine, the father of American ballet, we bring you Rubies, the red-hot centerpiece of his iconic ballet, Jewels, full of spark, sass and neoclassical choreography that’s uniquely American. We’re pairing this iconic piece with a contemporary ballet by Tony Award®-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon of Broadway and New York City Ballet fame. His Ghosts transports you to an ethereal place where lost souls look for love, and it showcases a softer, fluid style of dance that’s as haunting as the specters on stage performing it. Join us for two hopelessly romantic dance works destined to leave your restless heart longing for more!
CHOREOGRAPHY: George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon
MUSIC: Igor Stravinsky, C. F. Kip Winger
