The Wildflower Center’s Fall Plant Sale offers nearly 300 Texas plant species to choose from during prime fall planting season. Whether you want to help pollinators, or diversify your landscape and provide shade with a climbing vine or tree, the center will have thousands of herbaceous and woody options. Among them will be monarch favorites such as frostweed, hardy chapotillo bushes, and the milkweeds antelope horns and butterflyweed. Bluebells – thought to be Mrs. J’s favorite – and other hard-to-find natives will also be sold. They include a new type of goldeneye that is among 20-plus species for sale staff have grown from seed collected in West Texas, including ladyfinger, pin cushion and button cacti. The center will also offer anacacho orchids and other hard-to-find trees in larger containers such as big tooth maple and anacua. We’ll be open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Admission: $10 adults, $8 seniors and students, $4 youth 5 through 17.
Free for Center members, UT Austin members with current ID, and children under 5.
