A Texas woman learns she is infertile and asks her Mexican sister to be a surrogate mother. Full of naive hope, in the end she must decide what family really means to her. La Afortunada/The Lucky One  is a powerful story with three strong women in leading roles.

The cast for the table read includes Karina Dominguez, Sandra Avila, Paeka Campos, Brian Ramos, David Rice, Antonio Torres, and Anne Guzman.  The screenplay was written by STuart Kelban.  Both Kelban and Garrison teach in the RTF Dept. at The University of Texas.
