Aruna Sairam is the darling of Carnatic vocal music and the first ever from her tradition to sing at the BBC Proms—Pulse, Luton, England,One of the famous Carnatic nightingales of India  Padmasri Aruna Sairam will be featured on October 10^th 2015 at Lanier High School auditorium. Aruna Sairam, is regarded as the Music Ambassador of India, for successfully taking Indian music to the global arena. Steeped in bhava-expression and classical divinity, Aruna Sairam’s music evokes bhakti-devotion in every listener’s soul.  She has taught Indian music at Harvard and Banff Center in Canada. She is the Vice Chairman of the prestigious Sangeeth Natak Academy. The US Congress issued a special Congressional proclamation recognizing her musical contribution. Further, in 2008 she had been appointed as the Advisor to the Department of Culture, Tamil Nadu, on Musical Education She is an expert in “‘The Wisdom of Vitthala’ and ‘Rang Ahang’ – and are concerts fully dedicated to abhangs which Aruna sings and narrates stories about these songs.
