Murder Ballad Murder Mystery

Murder Ballad Murder Mystery

Presented by Paper Chairs at Unknown

paper chairs’ Murder Ballad Murder Mystery is back from the dead for a limited run!

For three nights only, our legendary outlaws will resurrect in east Austin for a lightning round of existential haunting.  Join us Sept 27-29 as we transform local artist Ryan McKerley’s backyard studio into a ghost town where demons wreck havoc ‘til no one is left standing.

This backwoods musical, written by local playwright and paper chair company member Elizabeth Doss, features live music, dance numbers, bawdy bad guys, and a lone sheriff aiming to catch the legendary criminals in their tracks. Part slapstick exorcism and part ramshackle hoedown, this play investigates the many ways and whys we carry out a death sentence. It’s “overwhelmingly entertaining… [with] many quirky, oddball moments that make the show great.” (Broadway World fall 2013 review.)

Did you miss Murder Ballad in the past? Curious to see it in a different venue? Couldn’t get those songs out of your head? Go on then, catch these bandits before they’re gone for good!
