Steve Parker (trombone + electronics) & Matt Steinke (robotic instruments) will play a set that explores the convergence of robotic, computer, and human. Together, they will play duos for trombone + robotic instruments, based on the Madrigals of experimental Renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo. Steve will also perform the virtuosic Berio Sequenza and works for trombone + computer. Matthew will present a solo set of pieces for instruments designed and built by himself, played by robots.

Touring act – Name is a performer and artist who primarily uses sound and poetry to share deep interests around Consciousness, Mysticism, Trance states, the Tarot and Magic. Working with repetition, drones, words, voice, and the physical body, Name conjures expressive forms of release, be it through drumming tightly interlaced patterns and improvisations in order to reach ecstatic states, or playing his de-tuned/prepared guitar around intimate poetry. Name’s curiosity has caused him to seek out what may be beyond this darkness to find a positive light in life.
