Texas Memorial Museum is celebrating National Fossil Day, a nationwide event promoting awareness and appreciation of fossils and the science of paleontology.  Explore ancient Austin with free admission and activities. 

Scheduled activities:

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. — Fossil Identifications
Meet a paleontologist to learn about your personal fossil finds and the fabulous fossil record of Texas.  (1st floor, Paleo Lab)

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. — Fossil Dig Pit
Young paleontologists can make their own discoveries of Texas fossils. 
(Outdoor classroom, weather permitting)

1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. — Gallery Talk: Ancient Austin – Swimming with the Mosasaurs
(1st floor, in front of the Cretaceous marine life exhibit)

3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. — Gallery Talk: Ancient Austin – Running with the Dire Wolves
(1st floor, in front of the Ice Age exhibit)
