Texas Book Festival, in partnership with Central Market, is proud to host Sean Brock as he presents his newest cookbook, South: Essential Recipes and New Explorations, on Saturday, October 26th at 2:30 p.m.
Book tickets for the James Beard award-winning author, chef, and restaurateur are now available via the Texas Book Festival website. Each book ticket includes one pre-signed copy of the book and grants access to priority seating at this Festival session.
Brock is the founding chef of the award-winning Husk restaurants throughout the American South and the chef/owner of his forthcoming flagship restaurant in Nashville. In South, Brock shares his recipes for key components of the cuisine, where recipes can be mixed and matched to make a meal or eaten on their own. Taken together, they make up the essential elements of Southern cuisine, from grits and fried chicken to collard greens and cornbread. Regional differences are highlighted in recipes, and the cookbook includes key Southern knowledge, too—including how to fry, how to care for cast iron, how to cook over a hearth, and more. This is the book Sean Brock fans and Southern food lovers all over have been waiting for.
Book tickets for this session cost $40. Priority seating for book ticket holders will open at 2 p.m., and a limited amount of general open seating will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 2:20 p.m.
