Presented by Michael Mares Mendoza at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

“Voces in AR” explores the Mexican American World War II experience with photos and video interviews of Mexican American WWII Veterans from the Voces Oral History Project of The University of Texas. Part of the project focuses on the story of Marcario García the first Mexican immigrant Medal of Honor recipient. Use the augzoo® app on-location when visiting the courtyard of the ESB Mexican American Cultural Center to view the augmented reality digital installation from August 23rd to August 31st. A special viewing of the content will also be shared through two video presentations at the ESB-MACC’s Raul Salinas Room on August 23rd at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. This event is sponsored in part by City of Austin Cultural Arts.

Admission Info

A special presentation of the WWII Veteran interviews will be screened on August 23rd at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm in the ESB-MACC’s Raul Salinas Room.

Augmented realty is viewable August 23rd – 31st in the courtyard of the ESB-MACC using the augzoo app.

Free Parking is available to guests attending the center’s programs, galleries and special events. A temporary parking pass is available in the main office. There is also metered street parking available.
