Datri Bean is a composer, singer, musician, and instigator of fun things. She sings, and plays piano, ukulele, accordion, and cornet. She’s composed a wide range of material – from Southern friend vintage jazz to Indie pop, and in another project- funk and balkanesque for the 32-piece Minor Mishap Marching Band.

In this project, she has written new compositions throughout the year, writing suites of waltzes, tangos, blues- adding up to over 60 songs. She’s selected her very best ones to explore an entirely sound entirely different from the brass funk and languid jazz she’s most known for, utilizing cello, marimba, guitar, piano, and three-part harmony vocals.

She recently toured Australia, the US, and UK as a vocalist and pianist in the band Nancy and Beth – playing venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Hall, and Royal Festival Hall (London).  Her compositions have been featured in the television show Fargo, and are covered by bands in Brazil, Canada, China, and the US.
