Chaddick Dance Theater will be presenting the second annual ATX Dance Summer Film Festival at First Street Studio in Austin, Texas. This festival will feature dance films from around the world in both student and professional categories.
The mission of the ATX Dance Summer Film Festival is to support and introduce the exciting and growing emerging art form of combining dance and film by developing an audience to support established as well as emerging artists. The integration of dance and cinematography is at the heart of the festival.
Chaddick Dance Theater encourages submissions from artists of all disciplines, regardless of credentials and affiliations. The ATX Dance Summer Film Festival will present two categories of filmmakers: Emerging and Professional Artists. The Emerging Artist category includes students who are in high school or a degree-granting institution and first-time filmmakers. The Professional Artist category includes choreographers, animators, and filmmakers who have experience in dance cinematography.
