Hidden Room Salon Series at the Neill-Cochran House

Presented by The Hidden Room Theatre at Neill-Cochran House Museum

Enjoy three summer evenings of discussion, entertainment, and themed libations/bites inside the exquisite Neill-Cochran House. Each event will be lead by a scholar/expert in the topic, as supported by entertainment from The Hidden Room Theatre. This will be followed by the opportunity for salon participants to engage in discussion and exhibition wherever possible.

Thursday August 1st, 6PM – 8PM:  BEHIND THE VEIL: SPIRITUALISM IN THE 19th CENTURY — Talk lead by Katie Keckeisen, Collections Manager, Brush Square Museums. Scheduled entertainment from Robert Matney reading from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s lectures on his experiences with the spirit world, and musician Cami Alys performing the 1853 parlour song hit “Spirit Rappings.”

Thursday August 8th, 6PM – 8PM:  BARDOLATRY ON THE BOARDS: SHAKESPEARE IN AMERICA — Talk lead by Eric Colleary, Cline Curator of Theatre and Performing Arts, Harry Ransom Center. 

Thursday August 15th, 6PM – 8PM:  PARLOUR GAMES: HOW TO BEHAVE AND HOW TO AMUSE  — Talk lead by Rebecca Beegle, writer, director/producer, and storyteller.  Listen, chat, and play with us.

Tickets available at the door, $15 general, $12 student/senior, $10 Neill-Cochran House Members.  $30 for a three-event pass.
