Join Austin Chamber Music Festival for the inaugural performance of the Miró Quartet’s Archive Project.
“This is living music. This isn’t a changeless, mummified tradition: the music, how it’s played and how it’s received, changes through time. Every age and era have a distinct character and definitely leave a mark on this great repertoire we call the string quartet.” — John Largess, Miró Quartet
Presenting the inaugural performance of the Miró Quartet’s Archive Project, a recreation of three concert programs from the past which will celebrate 250 years of string quartet history as well as the Quartet’s own 25th anniversary. This program, originally performed on April 15, 1910 by the Kneisel String Quartet, will feature spellbinding works by Mozart, Glière, Franck, Servais, and Schubert—all performed in the present day by one of America’s most celebrated and dedicated string quartets.
MIRÓ QUARTET: Daniel Ching & Will Fedkenheuer, violins, John Largess, viola, Joshua Gindele, cello
